Firsts

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Through the frayed curtain at my window, a wan glow announces the break of day.

He was an old man who fished alone in a skiff in the Gulf Stream and he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish.

Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun.

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit.

It was a pleasure to burn.

The difficult first post of any blog.
