The Great River Ness Raft Race

This raft race is held every year in the centre of Inverness and raises a considerable amount of money for the Children 1st charity. Each year a host of local businesses and groups get together and design and build their own rafts to paddle down the River Ness, competing for the best decorated raft as well as the fastest time over the course. This year was no exception with 5 heats throughout the afternoon and a colourful array of rafts on display.

I was very fortunate once again to be a small part of Children 1st on the day, which gave me fantastic access to take some quality images for them.

  3. Wow fantastic photos! I love raft races/fancy dress races. They used to have one where I’m from in Ireland but the river got too strong and it got cancelled.Bet they must have been freezing at the end! Well done on these great shots! 🙂

  4. wow… thanks all for taking the time to view and comment. I really appreciate them. Sorry I cant reply to each one individually though. Delighted that you like my images. It was a great day supporting a very worthwhile cause.
